I’ll probably still make release announcements here as well.

Reviewing my Volunteered Computer

Well it’s been a while since I gave a BOINC cobblestone review.

I’ve actually had a look at my end of year targets and I seem to be on track with them.

I still have a couple of months obviously but It appears that I may have been a bit conservative with my estimates.

Stated Goals were SETI@Home 75,000-100,000, Einstein@Home 40,000-50,000 and A Total Cobblestone Contribution of 175,000-200,000 across all projects.

So far my totals are

SETI@Home 75,172
Einstein@Home 34,706
Climate Predition 32,321
Cosmology@Home 11,320
Milkyway@Home 10,481
Artificial Intelligence 6,301

Cobblestone Total 170,319

So It seems I’ve reached (or about to) the lower estimates of my total contributions

Cosmetic guide.simutrans.com

I made some cosmetic changes to the Simutrans Reference Material website today. These cosmetic changes almost didn’t happen but I found the absence of the graphic that almost made it an absolute mess.

I’ve moved the major links on the site to download the Reference Manual and the Starter Guide up their respective pages.

Because of the recent undertaking of Language Translations I have also added some information about what languages you can expect to see the reference material in the (hopefully??) near future.

Spanish is already available and expect to see the Starter Guide also in French, Portuguese and Czech.

Still a lot more Volunteering

Just a Quick Update on the BOINC Project I volunteer some CPU time towards.

SETI@Home: 60,178
Einstein@Home:31,071
Cosmology@Home: 6,700
Milkyway@Home:3,262

I seem to be making good progress on the targets I set.
Milkyway@Home has adjusted their credit per unit to 2.1 (down from 6.5) but a single workunit is taking me 7 minutes so I don’t mind

My Team at SETI@Home (which for the last 3 years has just been me) now has a total of 3 members.

A new revision of the Starter Guide is out this week.

Writing about the content and features of Simutrans 99.17. It is relevant for anyone you obtains a copy of simutrans from Sourceforge.net.

there was also a comment left today about simutrans on my earlier post when I was nearing completion of the Second Edition (2.x). Working on That seems a long time ago. It’s the First comment I’ve received so don’t been afraid.

Well I found an extra clip that I was looking to go into the original production. It’s related to watermelon.

Not sure if I should create a special collectors edion now or add it as an extra for this years Filming Laughter & Play Project.

I have updated Transparency and Hiding Buildings to reflect the new Simutrans Version (99.17) [This is a BONUS] and I have just mentioned the possible inclusion of a Glossary for Reference Manual 3.04+.

Anyway I am making good progress and may be able to release in two weeks which would be my Ideal

Filming Laughter and Play Post Production

Well I needed to do a bit of extra post production work before pressing the extra copies. A few small errors adding a slideshow and some extra sounds.

The final product is something I am proud of. It was a good thing I did not press those extra copies early.

Distributing the Cobblestones

I regularly have only one active host for all the volunteer computing that I have been doing. I have been getting a bit bored of just working on My two major projects SETI@Home and Einstein@Home. (Climate Prediction.Net  was good as well although I reserved that for my Linux System [Which I am without ATM])

I have recently discovered two other Projects that seem quite interesting. Cosmology@Home and Milky Way@Home. Both of these are currently without Graphics they’re different and I’ll continue crunching SETI regularly so I have something to look at.
